Memory bowl prototype, inviting our friends and some proposals

I got up really early this morning, all excited and full of energy. I wanted to get on with my memory bowl project so I worked on painting the first bowl. I am, though, quite pleased with the result. The next one will have photoraphs pasted inside to record our recent visit to Arran and will be the proper prototype for 'Memory Bowls'. I started writing up an activity sheet which we will provide to guests who stay with us. The plan is to have these laminated and for use by everyone. We will have plain papier mache bowls available and materials to decorate them, computer print-outs from our guests' collection of holiday snaps and the means to finish the bowls so that they will be robust enough to take home.

I had a go at sending a general email to all the people on my Yahoo contact list inviting them to have a look at this blog and participate, comment and ask for more information. It wasn't entirely successful, some messages came back as if it were 'spam'. We can sort that out though. I put a message on my Facebook with the same message and several people have responded to that and to the email which is encouraging.

This evening Mark and I sat down (well actually walked about like a bull and a matador) talking about how we are going to achieve all this. We decided to send a simple business proposal to a very particular friend for feedback and advice. She was kind enough to respond and take interest. She commented that "the idea has legs". We really liked that.
